1.2 Submittals

1. Product Data:
   1. Submit manufacturers literature showing details of core and edge construction, trim for lite openings and louvers where applicable.
2. Shop Drawings:
   1. Submit shop drawings indicating dimensions and elevation of each door type, materials and construction details, locations in buildings, location and extent of hardware, fire ratings, and all other pertinent data.
3. Samples:
   1. Submit corner section sample of each type of door cut diagonally to show construction.
   2. Submit samples of selected plastic laminate facing.
4. Door supplier shall submit written certification that doors will comply with specifications as set forth in project manual.
5. Maintenance Instructions:
   1. Furnish maintenance and care instructions for decorative laminate doors.

1.3 Quality Assurance

1. Manufacturer Qualifications:
   1. All doors produced under this section shall be by a single manufacturer.
   2. Door manufacturer shall have a minimum of 10 years experience in producing architectural grade laminate doors.
   3. Doors shall comply with Architectural Woodwork Institute Quality Standards for grade of door, core, construction, finish and other pertinent requirements.

1.4 Delivery, Storage and Handling

1. Doors shall be individually wrapped in corrugated cardboard for maximum protection during transit and storage at job site.
2. Each door shall be identified with individual opening numbers as designated on shop drawings.
3. Deliver doors to the building in which they are to be installed when normal temperature and humidity conditions are approximate to the interior conditions that will exist when building is occupied.
4. Store doors flat on level surface above floor using blockings and plywood under bottom door.

1.5 Warranty

1. Solid core interior doors shall be warranted for the Life of the Installation against warping, twisting and other manufacturing defects as set forth in the referenced Quality Standards.
2. Any defects shall be corrected at no cost to building owner. This warranty will include reasonable cost of rehanging the repaired or replacement door.

2.1 General

1. Fabricate laminate faced doors that meet or exceed AWI section 1300 quality standards.
2. Stile edges of doors shall have plastic laminate edges applied prior to faces so as to avoid black line effect.
3. Doors shall be prefit and beveled at factory for all applicable mortised hardware items.
4. All doors shall be premachined at factory for applicable mortised hardware items.
5. Fire doors shall be machined in strict compliance with Underwriters Laboratories and provisions set forth in NFPA-80.
6. All doors, before leaving factory shall have top and bottom rails sealed against moisture penetration.

2.2 Manufacturers

1. Decorative Laminate Faced Doors shall be manufactured by:

2.3 Materials

1. Plastic laminate facing shall be a minimum thickness of .050", with edging cut from same material.
2. Stiles are to be a minimum 1 3/8" wide, made of hardwood species, glue bonded to core.
3. Rails are to be a minimum 1 1/8" wide, made of hardwood species, glue bonded to core.
4. The door core shall be particle board of 32 lb. Density, complying with ANSI-A208.1 particle board standard.
5. The core shall be sanded smooth after applying stiles and rails to insure a flat laminating surface.
6. Laminate faces shall be glued to cores using the cold press method with Type II water resistant glue to assure proper adhesion.

2.4 Labeled Doors

1. Core construction will be noncombustible mineral core, edged on 4 sides with fire proof treated hardwood, complying to Underwriters Laboratories requirements for 45, 60, or 90 minute Fire Doors.
2. Provide the proper classification marking on each door for which the labeled fire door is to be used in opening.
3. All doors are to be premachined and prefitted at factory for designated opening.

3.1 Installation

1. Comply with AWI Quality Standards, unless otherwise specified.
2. Install door in designated frame within clearances specified. Install applicable hardware in accordance with manufacturers instructions and templates.
3. Do not install doors in frames that are set out of plumb.
4. Allow doors to become acclimated to building heat and humidity before installation.

3.2 Protection

1. Protect doors from damage before and after installation.
